How do I approve Reddit comments in Slack before they post?

Two ways. Build it yourself: a free n8n template finds Reddit threads, drafts a comment and sends it to a Slack channel, and you post the ones you like. Or use a service: with CommunityMentions you approve the voice in Slack, nothing posts before that, and the $1,000 monthly billing starts only after you approve.

The short answer

If you write and post the comments yourself, put a review step in Slack between drafting and posting. The n8n template "Reddit brand engagement with AI comment generation and Slack notifications" does that. It sends each thread, its draft comment and a score to a Slack channel, and its best-practice list says to review and approve comments in Slack before posting. If a service posts for you, ask where you approve and what you approve. With CommunityMentions it happens in a Slack workshop after a $1 setup charge. This page walks through both from the buyer's side. For what the service itself includes, see done-for-you Reddit marketing.

Quick picks: what are you doing?

  • You'll post the comments from your own account and want drafts in Slack first: use the n8n template.
  • Your company already routes approvals through Zapier and wants a sign-off trail by email or form: look at ApproveThis' Reddit integration.
  • You want someone else to find threads and post daily, and you only want to sign off on the voice: CommunityMentions, $1 to start, $1,000 a month after you approve.
  • You want to read sample comments before approving anything at all: run the free sample first.

Ways to approve Reddit comments before they post, and what each takes

Three routes exist: a free template that sends drafts to Slack, an approval tool that routes requests by email or form, and a service where you approve the voice in Slack. Details are as each tool's own page showed them on November 7, 2026.

Steps with CommunityMentions

From your side, this is the whole flow.
StepWhat you doWhat done looks like
1Run the free sample on your website. You've read the first comments, about 2 minutes in.
2Click Start for $1. It saves your card; it is a setup charge, not a trial. The Slack workshop opens for you.
3In Slack, review the voice and the filters the comments follow. You've reviewed the voice and filters, and nothing has posted.
4Approve the setup when the comments read right.Daily posting starts. So does the $1,000 monthly billing.
5Read the daily Slack report.A link to every comment that passed our check and a count of the ones moderators removed.

What to look for before you approve

Read the sample comments the way a moderator would. Does the first line give advice before it names your product? Does any comment make a claim you couldn't back up, such as a medical or results claim? Is the product named once, the way a helpful customer would? If something is off, say so in the Slack channel before you approve; per our company facts, the founder is in every channel and replies within 24 hours. Nothing posts while you decide, and the monthly billing hasn't started. If the comments never read right, you don't approve, and daily posting and the $1,000 billing never start.

Limits to know

  • With CommunityMentions you approve the voice and the setup, not each comment one at a time. After approval, comments post daily and the report shows each one after it goes up.
  • If you need a sign-off on every single comment before it posts, a do-it-yourself flow like the n8n template fits better, and you do the posting.
  • The n8n template needs your own Reddit API app and OpenAI key, and you post from your own account.
  • A Slack approval step catches tone problems. It doesn't stop moderators removing a comment, which is why our report counts removals.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see the comments before CommunityMentions posts anything?

Yes. The free sample shows comments written for your site before you pay, and after the $1 setup charge you approve the voice in Slack. Nothing posts before you approve.

When does the $1,000 monthly billing start?

Only after you approve the setup in Slack. Starting costs $1, which saves your card. It's month-to-month after that: cancel before the next billing cycle.

Do I approve every comment?

No. You approve the voice and the setup, and then comments post daily. The daily Slack report links every comment that passed our check, so your team can read what went out. If you need to sign off each comment, a do-it-yourself flow fits better.

Can I build a Slack approval step for Reddit comments myself?

Yes. n8n's free template 8458 finds Reddit posts, drafts a comment with OpenAI and sends it to Slack for review. It needs Reddit API credentials, an OpenAI API key and a Slack webhook, and you post the approved comments yourself.
